The San Leon Volunteer Fire Department responded to an auto vs. bicyclist accident. Upon arrival, we found the bicyclist on the ground, bleeding but alert, oriented, and breathing. Thankfully, her injuries appeared to be minor, but she was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

This serves as an important reminder for both drivers and cyclists to stay vigilant on the road:

🚲 For Cyclists:
βœ… Wear a helmet and bright or reflective clothing.
βœ… Always follow traffic laws and use hand signals.
βœ… Stay in designated bike lanes when available.
βœ… Be aware of your surroundings and avoid distractions.

πŸš— For Drivers:
βœ… Always check your mirrors and blind spots for cyclists.
βœ… Give at least three feet of space when passing.
βœ… Slow down and be extra cautious in bike-heavy areas.
βœ… Never drive distractedβ€”put the phone down!

Let’s work together to keep our roads safe for everyone. Stay alert, drive carefully, and watch out for one another!
