Fire Safety Reminder from San Leon VFD

San Leon Fire responded to a RV fire caused by an extension cord powering multiple items and a light placed too close to flammable materials. Fortunately, the fire was contained, but this is an important reminder about electrical and fire safety in your home or business.

πŸ”₯ Fire Safety Tips:
βœ… Use extension cords only as a temporary solution, not for permanent wiring.
βœ… Keep heat sources like lamps, space heaters, and light bulbs away from flammable materials such as curtains, bedding, and paper.
βœ… Avoid overloading outlets and extension cords, as this can cause overheating and fire.
βœ… Check cords for damage or fraying and replace them if worn.
βœ… Always turn off and unplug electrical devices when not in use.

Stay safe, San Leon! If you have any questions about fire safety, feel free to reach out to us. As always, we’re here to help!
