| Protecting lives knows no borders. The equipment donated by the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department has officially arrived at a fire station in Mexico, where it is already being put to use.
In the fire service, borders and backgrounds are set aside when lives are at stake. Firefighters focus on supporting one another and responding to the call to protect their communities, regardless of where someone comes from.
If gear that can no longer be used locally can provide protection to another firefighter, help ensure their safety in hazardous situations, or even save a life, it continues to serve a vital purpose.
It is our hope that this donated equipment adds another layer of protection for firefighters in Mexico as they remain dedicated to serving their communities with the resources available to them.
While the countries and departments may differ, the mission remains the same. The sense of solidarity and commitment unites firefighters everywhere.
We are proud that this equipment has found a new home and continues to help others.
