| The San Leon Volunteer Fire Department is continuing to expand by adding dedicated, experienced, and highly trained members to better serve the community. Today, two of the newest members are being introduced. Markus Baloney brings a significant amount of medical and emergency response experience to the department. Markus is a Registered Nurse and has worked in Critical Care ICU, is a Paramedic, former Flight Medic, a CCRN, and holds ACLS, PALS, and several other certifications. He started his fire service career in 1996 and is eager to apply his years of fire and medical expertise to support the San Leon community. Markus is volunteering his time, knowledge, and experience to assist the citizens of San Leon whenever required. Kayla Lobo is also joining the team. Kayla is a Texas-certified EMT who is currently attending the University of Houston, working toward a bachelor's degree in Pre Med and Biomedical Engineering. She contributes another valuable level of medical training, dedication, and professionalism to the department. As part of ongoing restructuring and growth, the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department has added two commissioned firefighters, two Advanced EMTs, four EMT-Basics, and one member in paramedic school. The department’s goal is straightforward: to continue building a team of experienced, trained, and qualified professionals who are ready to provide the highest level of emergency service to the San Leon community. The department welcomes Markus and Kayla to the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department family. A stronger department, more trained responders, and improved service for the community are the focus. Additional new recruits will be introduced soon. San Leon Fire remains committed to delivering the highest level of care to the community and is in the first stage of restructuring. The department thanks all members for their continued hard work. |
